The mosque and its madrasa stand two kilometres from the centre of Silopi, in Birlik village — still called Cuma locally — at the southwestern edge of the village, inside the graveyard. People in the area know the complex as Nuh Nebi.
There is no inscription on the building, so its date is not fixed. The directorate places it in the Seljuk period, at the start of the thirteenth century, reasoning from the history of the region together with the plan and the architecture.
