The mosque at Cizre carries the name of the prophet Noah, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism states that he lies buried here, in the basement of the building, describing him as the second father of humanity since the flood.
The upper floor of the mosque had collapsed over time, and in the repairs a flat concrete slab was laid, which took the building away from its original form. Both the tomb and the mosque have since been restored. It is reached by city transport.
