Ödemiş Museum is an archaeological and ethnographic museum in Ödemiş, founded in 1983 and standing on the D 310 road east of the town centre.
The plot for the building was given in 1976 by a private collector, Mutahhar Başoğlu, and the museum opened in 1983. The works shown here had previously been kept in the Tire and İzmir archaeological museums, and Başoğlu also gave the archaeological and ethnographic material from his own collection.
The building is tent-shaped, with a basement and a ground floor, and has a single hall for display. Most of the works are ethnographic, but there are archaeological finds of the late Bronze Age, the Classical period and the Byzantine period as well: pottery, cult figures, lamps, blades, axes, ornaments, terracotta objects, figurines, statues, and works in bronze and glass. The ethnographic section holds Ottoman copper and silver objects, weapons, clothing and embroidery. The collection also includes 2,545 coins of various ages, and 4,458 objects are displayed in all.
