The mansion was built in 1495 by Halil Bey of the Ramazanoğulları.
The selamlık, where the business of government was carried on, and the haremlik, where the family lived, are both still standing. On the upper floor there is a terrace with a pool.
The house stands near the Ulu Cami of Adana and is reached by ordinary public transport within the city.
