Kozan's town museum fills the old municipal building of Kozan, a structure from the early 20th century that was restored to its original form before the collections moved in. The municipality set it up to tell the story of the district and its surroundings, and the displays are arranged by theme rather than by date.

The archaeological room draws heavily on Anavarza, the ancient city nearby: Roman mosaics, coins, sculpture and everyday objects reflect the succession of peoples who held this area, from the Hittites through the Romans and the Byzantine era to the Seljuks. A folk-life section turns to the people of Kozan themselves, with traditional dress, handmade carpets, kitchenware and farm tools.

Further rooms cover the town's trade, with material on the old bazaars, craft workshops and trade routes and on the district's farm produce and handicrafts; its landscape of mountains and plains, with pictures and texts on the Kozan dam, Anavarza castle and Dağılcak; and its part in the Kurtuluş Savaşı, the war of independence, when the municipality says Kozan was a centre of resistance. Alongside documents from that period is an account of how the town grew in the early decades of the republic.
