The glass viewing terrace at Torul is built on the summit near Torul Castle, a medieval fortress raised for defence and observation that was taken into Ottoman territory in the reign of Mehmed II. The terrace stands 240 metres above the ground below, which the Ministry describes as among the highest of its kind in Türkiye, and it is two kilometres from the main road, making it one of the more accessible glass terraces as well.
The platform covers 90 square metres of reinforced glass and can carry fifty people at once. It sits at the top of the hill on which the castle stands, on the route between the Zigana tunnel and the Karaca cave, so it fits naturally into a day that takes in both.
