Our compilation for a short stay in İstanbul, not an official route. It is drawn from the same İstanbul pool as the longer routes in this guide and ranked by the same measured criteria; the grouping into days comes from the coordinates, so each group holds places that are near one another.
One group keeps to the water and the hill above it: Dolmabahçe Sarayı on the European shore of the Bosphorus, and the Galata Kulesi north of the Haliç.
The other is the old quarter, and it is the one that can be crossed on foot end to end — Topkapı Sarayı, Ayasofya, the Yerebatan Sarnıcı and Sultan Ahmed Camii all stand within about eight hundred metres of one another.
No driving or ferry times are given anywhere in this guide, because we do not have them. What each place is, when it was last checked, and which source says so is on its own page.
