The medrese lies inside a cemetery in the Dağkapı quarter, at the southern edge of Cizre, and most of it is gone. Five pieces are still standing: a prayer house, a tomb, a single student's cell, an iwan, and the entrance unit that led into the courtyard.
Its founder is recorded by name - Emir Abdal, also given as Abdullah, ibn Abdillah Seyfettin Bohti - and the year of building as 1437. City transport reaches the quarter.
