The mosque stands on Mercimek Tepe above Kahramanmaraş and can be seen from anywhere in the city. It was completed and opened for worship in 2011, and the provincial directorate describes it as one of the largest mosques in Türkiye, with room for ten thousand people.
City minibuses, public buses and taxis reach it from anywhere in the city.
