The tomb of Adile Sultan stands on Bostan İskelesi Sokağı in the Eyüp district of İstanbul, near the Eyüp Sultan Mosque, in a quarter given over on every side to tombs and burial grounds. The tombs of Prince Sabahattin and of Hüsrev Paşa stand within the same block.
It was built in 1849 for Damad Mehmet Ali Paşa, husband of Adile Sultan. The first burial here was that of her daughter Hayriye Hanım, who died in 1869, and Adile Sultan herself was buried here after her death in 1898.
The tomb is rectangular in plan, with a curved lead-covered dome, walls of coursed stone, a marble-faced front, and outward-facing windows and doors of cast iron. It is made of a succession of parts: a cross-vaulted room at the centre, with a domed square burial room on either side of the cast-iron grille door that opens into it. The monogram of Sultan Abdülmecid stands above the entrance, dated 1266 in the Hegira, which gives the year of building as 1849. The domed room to the right of the door holds six cenotaphs and the one to the left three.
