The Ağılı juniper was registered as a natural monument in 2002. It stands on a hill at 1,730 metres in the Balcılar neighbourhood of the Taşkent district of Konya, about 8 kilometres from the settlement.
The tree is around 2,000 years old, 12 metres tall, 3.6 metres in diameter and 11.3 metres around. It does not stand alone: about a hundred junipers of around 500 years old grow around it.
Partridge, fox, bear and brown hare are the animals recorded here. The site has a shelter, a picnic unit, lavatories, a fountain and a prayer room, and what people come for is quiet walking and photography.
