Akyokuş Tabiat Parkı covers 21.57 hectares at the Akyokuş locality in the Meram district of Konya, six kilometres from the city centre, and was registered on 11 July 2011.
The Directorate is candid about the tree cover. The black pines stand very sparsely and the almonds form what it calls sparse broadleaved woodland, with trees between three and five metres tall, and the ground flora beneath them is not especially rich — green and eastern millets are the herbs named. Fir, maple, ash, birch, weeping mulberry and roses have been planted here alongside the pine and almond.
The reptiles recorded are unusually numerous for a park this size: spur-thighed tortoise, steppe and rock and field lizards, worm snake, Montpellier snake, dwarf snake, green lizard, whip snakes, a horned viper, a stocky lizard, water snake, terrapin, striped lizard and land tortoise. Among the birds are shelduck, sparrow, magpie, woodpecker, crow, turtle dove, gull, marsh harrier, buzzard and kestrel; among the mammals, shrew, hedgehog, bat, souslik, wild boar, vole and squirrel.
Facilities are a car park, fountains, a tea garden, a country café, a prayer room, shelters, a children's playground, a country restaurant, a picnic area, lavatories, a viewing terrace and a walking path, with a stated capacity of 3,000 visitors and 300 vehicles. A café run by Konya Metropolitan Municipality also operates on the site.
