Akliman's beach runs as a narrow ribbon of sand for kilometres, 15 to 20 metres wide, 9 kilometres west of Sinop city centre. Behind it, the Akliman Picnic Area is well equipped, and here the forest comes right down to the sea along a ria-type coastline.

- Across Sinop as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 6.8 °C in February to 23.4 °C in August; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August, September and October; rainfall is heaviest in December (92 mm) and lightest in July (34 mm). Long-term means for 1936-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
