This mosque was never finished as intended. Bayezid I began it, and the work was left half done when the Battle of Ankara came; the roof was completed in wood.
It was burned during the occupation and repaired after the War of Independence, when the roof covering and the minaret were rebuilt. It is within walking distance in the centre of Alaşehir.
