The Museum of Educational Caricature is in a two-storey wooden house in the urban conservation area of Odunpazarı, the quarter where Eskişehir was first founded. The house is a typical Odunpazarı dwelling, thought to have been built in the early 1900s, restored and converted; its total floor area is 265 square metres. Anadolu University set the museum up in 2004 under its centre for research and practice in the art of caricature.
The ground floor is given to short-run solo and group exhibitions, with space for research work and a library.
The permanent collection is upstairs, divided by room: a main hall of caricaturists from outside Türkiye, a portraits room holding portraits of prime ministers, a room for caricaturists from Eskişehir, a poster room, and a room for Turkish masters of the form. Significant humour magazines, books, plates and sculptures are shown alongside.
Do not leave without looking at the small garden: its walls are decorated with caricatures made in metal by Turan Selçuk and Tan Oral.
