Çatal Sedir is the tallest of Burdur's three protected cedars at 34 metres, and also the slenderest, with a trunk 1.40 metres across and a girth of 4.50 metres. Its age is given as 250 years, the same as the Evciler cedar, which reaches only 27 metres.
It was registered earlier than the other two, on 29 September 1994, and its protected ground is larger at 0.25 hectares.
The tree grows within mixed black pine and cedar forest at the Kurudere locality in Asmabağ village, Altınyayla district.
Stated capacity is 500 visitors.
