Of the three cedars protected in Burdur province, the Kocapınar tree is the oldest and the thickest around: 318 years, with a girth of 5.04 metres. It is not the tallest, standing 24 metres to Çatal Sedir's 34. Its trunk measures 1.60 metres across. It was registered on 6 September 2002 on 0.10 hectares.
What is unusual is the company it keeps. A cedar of Lebanon this size normally grows in cedar or pine forest; this one stands inside coppiced kermes oak woodland, a much lower and drier kind of cover.
The site is at the Kocapınar locality in Altınyayla district. The animal list on its page is the general one the directorate repeats for all three of Burdur's monument cedars rather than a record for this spot.
Stated capacity is 500 visitors, with hours of 08:00 to 18:00.
