The Kargı Köyü oriental sweetgum forest was declared a nature conservation area on 27 July 1987 and covers 88.5 hectares in the Bucak district of Burdur. What it protects is Liquidambar orientalis, the Anatolian sweetgum, a tree of restricted distribution.
The forest grows either as pure stands of sweetgum or as mixed stands with oriental alder, Turkey oak, Calabrian pine and oriental plane. In the shrub layer are hawthorn, bay, fig and myrtle.

- Across Burdur as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 2.6 °C in January to 24.7 °C in August; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August and September; rainfall is heaviest in December (60 mm) and lightest in August (9 mm). Long-term means for 1931-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
