Darıdere Nature Park lies in the Edremit district of Balıkesir, about fifty kilometres from the centre of the district, and spreads over 104.6 decares. It was a recreation ground before being declared a nature park on 11 July 2011, and its development revision plan was approved on 13 March 2014.
Bear, jackal, fox, snake, chameleon, roe deer, marten, squirrel, mouse, hedgehog, boar, badger, bat, fish and crab are found here, along with birds such as the buzzard, falcon, woodpecker and sparrowhawk.
Various species of pine and oak grow in the park, with lime, chestnut, maple, alder, plane, walnut, apple, hazel, nettle, bay, thyme, sage and mushrooms among the other species.
Getting there
At Altınoluk, turn off the İzmir–Çanakkale road onto the road to the village of Narlı and follow the road through the village. Narlı lies three or four kilometres from the main road, and the park a further seventeen kilometres beyond the village.
