Guide
Güre, a small town twelve kilometres from Edremit on the road to Çanakkale, has hot springs whose water is classed as sodium sulphate thermal water containing fluoride. The thermal tourism centre here has hotels licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and other hotels in the surroundings also let guests use the water.
The provincial culture and tourism directorate gives a long list of conditions it says the water helps: gynaecological complaints, chronic inflammatory syndromes, upper respiratory diseases, goitre, skin diseases including psoriasis, arthrosis, kidney stones and gravel, liver disorders, musculoskeletal and rheumatic diseases, cardiovascular and atherosclerotic conditions, nervous system diseases, complaints of old age, menstrual disorders, post-traumatic lesions and rehabilitation after surgery.
Beyond the baths, the directorate recommends the surrounding country for mountain walking, ecotourism and camping. The Kaz Dağları were declared a national park in 1993.
