The mosque in the centre of Zile was built in 1215 AH (1800–1801) by Elbaşoğlu Ahmet Ağa, according to the inscription over the entrance to the prayer hall.

It is one of the wooden mosques, close to square in plan, with a small courtyard on the north. The porch was added later. You enter from the north through a round-arched door into a prayer hall ringed on three sides by a gallery carried on wooden supports.
