The Halil Bey Mosque is known locally as the Friday Mosque. It was built, according to the inscription over the eastern entrance, by Hacı Mehmet son of Hüseyin in the reign of the Ilkhanid ruler Abu Said Bahadur Khan.

It was of the type with a dome before the mihrab on a transverse rectangular plan, built of roughly dressed stone on a high plinth. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is blunt about what restoration cost it: after the work of 1996 the mosque lost much of its original plan and architecture.
