This museum at Gazi University began in 1974, founded within what was then the Girls' Technical Higher Teacher Training School by a group of its teachers under the leadership of Ülker Muncuk. On 2 July 1982 it was registered as a private museum and began operating under the supervision of the Directorate of the Ethnography Museum.
By a decision of the Gazi University senate on 31 March 2006 it was given its present name, the Prof. Dr. Ülker Muncuk Museum. It is on the university's vocational education faculty campus at Emniyet Mahallesi, Muammer Yaşar Sokak, Bostancı Cad. No: 15, Beşevler, and public transport towards Beşevler serves it.
