The Halkalı Evliya tomb in Amasya is built in the baldachin manner: a dome resting on four piers, open at the sides except on the south. Inside is the grave of Sahruz Hatun, daughter of Burak Bey, commander of the army, who was a descendant of Sadgeldi Pasha.
The name is explained by something no longer there. Two black stones formerly stood north of the cenotaph inside the tomb, and it is from the rings — halka — at the edges of those stones that the tomb takes its name. It stands beside the Ceribasi Mosque in the Sehirustu quarter.
