The tomb stands directly opposite the Gök Medrese and was built in 1278 by Seyfeddin Torumtay, governor of Amasya. He is buried here along with his children and grandchildren.
Both its plan and its ornament set it apart from other Seljuk tombs: it is rectangular, vaulted, and built on two storeys.
