Hatuniye Medresesi, also called the Sitti Radviyye Medresesi, was built between 1176/7 and 1184/5 by Sitti Raziye, mother of Kutbettin İlgazi, who is known to be buried in it. It is regarded as one of the pioneering examples of the eyvan-type medrese.
The building was rectangular, on two floors, with two eyvans and an arcaded courtyard, but it has been heavily altered and has lost its courtyard: a wall now runs north of the south eyvan, which should have been the main one, enclosing the arcade as well. The carving of the mihrab in the main eyvan reflects the rich stonework of the Artuklu period, and beside it, in a glass case, a footprint of Hz. Muhammed is displayed. To the east of the eyvan, which has been turned into a mosque, is a square tomb chamber under a dome on squinches.
