Irgandı is the only bazaar bridge the Ottomans built — a stone bridge with shops along it, standing south of the Boyacı Kulluğu bridge. It is thought to have been built in 1442, under Murad II, for the merchant Hoca Muslihuddin, son of Irgandı Ali, by Timurtaş son of Abdullah, who appears as a witness in the endowment deed of Hacı İvaz Paşa.

Evliya Çelebi, who came to Bursa in 1640 after the Celali revolts, wrote that there were two hundred shops on the bridge. In fact thirty-two were built, sixteen on each side.
