İtecik Lalesi Tabiatı Koruma Alanı covers 5 hectares within the boundaries of Kayaağıl village in the central district of Uşak and was declared on 5 August 2020. Its development plan is still awaiting approval.
The plant it is named for is Paeonia peregrina — a peony, although the local name calls it a tulip. Along with it, the meadows and the forest and river ecosystems are given as the area's assets.
There is no public transport to the site; visitors make their own way. The route runs from Uşak to Kayaağıl village and then along the road towards the İtecik hill tower. Beyond the village the road is unsurfaced, very stony and steep. The area lies 12 kilometres south-west of Uşak.
The timing of a visit matters here more than at most protected areas. The İtecik tulip, also called the ball tulip, is protected, grows naturally nowhere else in Uşak, and is among the rare tulips that flower for only ten to fifteen days, within the month of May. Outside that window there is little of it to see.
There is a walk to be made beyond the conservation area itself: on foot or by vehicle up to the İtecik forest fire tower at the 1,200-metre summit of İtecik Dağı, which the directorate recommends for the view, for photography and for walking. Nature walks, photo safari and sport are the uses it names for the area. Among the animals recorded are hare, grey heron, swallows, snakes and other reptiles, porcupines, turtle dove and buzzard. Because the vegetation here is dense, the warning and caution signs should be attended to.

- Across Uşak as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from 2.4 °C in January to 23.6 °C in August; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August and September; rainfall is heaviest in December (85 mm) and lightest in August (13 mm). Long-term means for 1939-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
