The toy museum at Canik in Samsun opened in 2017 and is described by the source as the largest of its kind in Türkiye.
Close to a thousand toys are displayed here, grouped as traditional, factory-made, foreign, antique and domestic. Children can widen their imaginations here and at the same time follow how the toy changed through history.
The oldest piece in the museum is a figure of the eighteenth century and the newest a doll dating from 1982.
The museum is on Girne Sokak in the Belediye Evleri quarter of Canik, within the Mevlana education and culture campus. It is open from 10.00 to 16.00 and closed on Sundays and Mondays. There is no charge for entry, though some of the workshops held inside are paid.
