The building has been transferred to Artuklu University, and the source says using it as a training hotel for tourism is under consideration — so what a visitor will find there now is not settled.
It was built in 1890 for the Satana family by the Armenian architect Lole, and the provincial governorate counts it among the finest examples of Mardin's civil architecture; the rich and imposing stonework is what catches the eye. From 1950 onwards it served as the post office. It stands on 1. Cadde, opposite the Sehidiye medrese.
