Sivas Cumhuriyet University keeps a museum about itself, in the large octagonal hall on the ground floor of its 4 Eylül culture centre. Work on it began in 2019 within the university's centre for the protection of cultural heritage and works of art, and it opened officially on 9 February 2022, the university's forty-eighth anniversary; the university describes it as the second museum of university history in Turkey.
What is shown runs from the founding year of 1974 to the present: archived documents, objects that were actually in use, publications printed on the university's own press, photographs tracing the institution from its establishment onward, and the gifts and plaques exchanged on official visits, together with paintings donated by artists. Most of the documents and objects came from the rectorate archive and from the faculties and other units, with further material given by people who worked for the university; donors are named beside what they gave, and the entire art collection was acquired by donation.
