Taşhan stands on the east side of the covered market. It was built about 1650 by Mehmet Efendi, Kalender Çelebi and Ahmet Çelebi of the Hatipzade family.
It is a two-storey building around a square courtyard. Founded as a travellers' han, it used the spaces on the lower floor as stables and stores and the rooms above for travellers to sleep in. Forming an organic whole with the market complex, it was built so that the caravans coming to the city could unload their goods and stay.
Today the rooms on both floors are used as shops and stores.
The han is on Mazman Sokak in the Kurtuluş quarter of Dulkadiroğlu and is easily reached from anywhere in the city by minibus, public bus or taxi.
