Tatarlı Höyük rises inside the village of Tatarlı on a basalt outcrop, and together with that rock it stands 35 metres high, spreading over an area of roughly 300 by 180 metres. It lies about 50 km east of the city of Adana and 24 km east of Ceyhan.
The team digging here, led by Serdar Girginer, has uncovered many rooms of a Late Bronze Age complex known as Building A. Its most distinctive feature is a channel for waste water that runs through the middle of the complex.
