Housed inside the chamber of certified public accountants in Odunluk, Nilüfer, this is a museum about bookkeeping — a subject that turns out to reach a long way back. The displays start from the invention of writing, follow the stages the profession passed through, and end with the difficult passage of the law of 1989 that gave accountancy in Turkey its legal footing.
The chamber states that it set the museum up so that people working in the field and the wider public could get accurate information about the profession and see what its history has been worth to society, and that a second aim was to add something to the city's own museum life. The objects on show were gathered from members of the profession and from its friends. Entry is free and the museum is closed on Mondays.
