Repairs have taken the Haydar Sultan complex away from what it was: of the mosque, tomb, burial ground, fountain and well that made it up, what has come down is the well known as Deliler Kuyusu and two inscriptions. The complex was built over a monastery that stood here in the late Roman or early Byzantine period.
The well is in the walled courtyard beside the mosque. Its head ring is 50 centimetres across, and below it the shaft is square, 60 by 60 centimetres; the mouth has been raised with concrete and stands about a metre and a half above the ground. The water is sulphurous, and although it is cold it gives off vapour. The site is at the village of Haydar Sultan, 22 kilometres from Keskin, on the skirts of the Böyrek mountains about 500 metres outside the village.
