Karataş Nature Park sits on the Mediterranean shore just east of Karataş town in Adana province, two kilometres from the town and 49 from Adana city. It covers 29.87 hectares and was declared on 11 July 2011. The Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks names its value plainly: it borders the sea and it holds a large area of forest.
The natural cover is secondary Mediterranean maquis — red pine, kermes oak, myrtle, carob, bay laurel and oleander. The animal list on the page is short, naming only jackal, fox, hedgehog and crested porcupine.
For a nature park this is a well-equipped one. There is a visitor information centre, a country restaurant, country houses and forest lodges, rain shelters, a kiosk, a children's play area, showers and changing cabins, picnic units, a tent camping area, a caravan camping area and day-use grounds, with walking possible on the existing paths. Tent and caravan camping, picnicking, walking, trekking, orienteering, outdoor events and nature education are the listed activities. Capacity is 5,000 visitors, 500 vehicles and 33 tents, with hours of 08:00 to 18:00. Karataş Municipality holds the concession.
