At 1,650 metres and 15 kilometres west of Maçka, Kulindağı Yaylası is the first link, on the Maçka side, in the chain of yaylas that make up the Şolma Tourism Centre. Its slopes are covered with spruce, cedar and hornbeam, purple rhododendron and the yellow flowers known locally as zifin. There is electricity and water, and the people of Yeşilyurt and Örnekalan villages use it as a mezra, a seasonal outlying settlement.
