At 1,850 metres, Kiraz Yaylası above Maçka has full services, with electricity, a post office and fountains, along with a grocery, a country coffeehouse, a butcher and a grill restaurant, so most needs can be met on the yayla itself. Its slopes are suited to grass skiing, and the Ayeser festival is held here every July. There are guesthouses in the villages of Hamsiköy and Gürgenağaç.

Getting there

From Maçka, 22 kilometres of asphalt road lead to Gürgenağaç village, and from there a 7-kilometre dirt road heads south to the yayla.
