The Kumacık bath in Amasya stands in the Bayezidpasa quarter, level with the Kunc bridge, and was built in 1495 by Ayaş Ağa, the chief gatekeeper who also founded the mosque complex bearing his name in the same town.
It is built of rubble stone and follows the traditional Ottoman bath plan with its cold, warm and hot sections. The changing room is square and covered by a large dome reached through Turkish triangles, and the hot room is domed as well; the domes are covered outside with pantiles. It is on Mehmet Paşa Caddesi, within walking distance of the centre.
