Ömer Esen Nature Park is a small coastal site of 4.43 hectares at Yanıklar in Fethiye, Muğla, and it is the country houses rather than the walking that people come for. The area was registered as a type A forest recreation site in 2003 and declared a nature park by the ministry on 11 July 2011. It falls inside the Fethiye-Göcek Specially Protected Area.
Red pine forest is the dominant ecosystem, covering 54 per cent of the park, with dune as the second. Across the park and its surroundings, at different times of year, the directorate counts 62 plants, 13 reptiles and amphibians, four mammals and 11 birds. Red pine, oriental sweetgum, oleander and myrtle grow with the Mediterranean maquis; squirrel, hedgehog, wild boar, jay, crow, blackbird, sparrow, hoopoe, rock mouse, a field lizard, a night frog and the Greek tortoise are the animals named.
There is a country restaurant, a viewing terrace, a car park, showers, toilets and changing cabins, and the accommodation is given as 21 country houses of various types plus two two-storey terraced blocks of ten. Capacity is 100 visitors and 30 vehicles, with hours of 08:00 to 19:00.
The park is about 16 kilometres from Fethiye town centre towards Muğla and can be reached by public transport: from the Köyler Garajı in Fethiye, line 3-50 stops at the junction on the main road, from where it is about 700 metres on foot to the park gate.
