The roof of Sivrihisar's Ulu Cami rests on 67 wooden posts, and the provincial directorate counts it among the largest wooden-pillared mosques in Anatolia. It covers 1485 m² and was built in 1274 by Emineddin Mikail, a follower of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi and one of the regents of Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev II. Hızır Bey, a kadı of Fatih Sultan Mehmet's time and the first kadı of İstanbul, later repaired it, and the inscription on the minaret records that Osman oğlu Hacı Habib built it in 1409.

Of these posts, six are decorated, their upper parts carved with rosettes, palmettes and geometric and plant motifs, and some of them stand on capitals from the Byzantine period. The minbar, made by Horasanlı İbni Mehmet with interlocking joinery, is a masterpiece, and the cupboard doors are carved from walnut. The walls are of cut and rubble stone, with inscriptions on the right and left wings, and the mosque has four entrance doors. Inside, fine examples of Sivrihisar kilim weaving can be seen.
