Tavşanlı's municipal museum opened on 22 February 1989 with the ministry's permission and holds private-museum status under the municipality.
It occupies the second floor of the konak that served as the old town hall — a registered example of domestic architecture, which is part of what there is to see. What is displayed is ethnographic and archaeological material from the district, together with natural history.
