The site has a particular history. Before it was a nature park it was used by the Ministry of Health as a sanatorium in the campaign against tuberculosis, and an old hotel building and stone bungalows still stand on it. The directorate also states that the oxygen proportion of the air there is above the world average.
The park covers close to 40 hectares, in Karşıyaka district of İzmir. It was declared on 11 July 2011 and its development plan was approved in 2013.
It lies 17 kilometres from Karşıyaka.
