Our compilation for İstanbul, not an official itinerary. It is the longer of our two İstanbul routes: the same shape as the four-day one, with the stops that get dropped when there is less time.

The Bosphorus part runs from Rumeli fortress down both shores — the pavilion at Küçüksu and the palace at Beylerbeyi on the Asian side, Yıldız and Dolmabahçe on the European, the Maiden's Tower in the water between.

The peninsula part is walkable end to end: Topkapı, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, the Great Palace mosaics and the Sultan Ahmed mosque stand within a few hundred metres of each other, and Nuruosmaniye, the Grand Bazaar and Süleymaniye continue west from them. The Galata tower, across the Haliç, closes the route.

No walking or driving times are given anywhere in this guide, because we have no road data and a straight-line distance is not a travel time. What each place is, when it was last checked and which source says so is on its own page.
