Our compilation for İstanbul, not an official route. İstanbul holds more of the places whose search interest we are able to measure than any other province, and a short route could carry only a fraction of them.
One group stays on the upper Bosphorus, where Rumeli Hisarı and Küçüksu Kasrı stand about a kilometre apart on opposite shores. The next groups work back down the strait — Beylerbeyi Sarayı and Yıldız Sarayı first, then Dolmabahçe Sarayı and the Kız Kulesi, which stands offshore and is the only stop on this route you cannot walk to.
One group is the dense one and the only one that can be crossed on foot end to end: Topkapı Sarayı, Ayasofya, the Yerebatan Sarnıcı, Sultan Ahmed Camii and the Büyük Saray mosaics all sit within about a kilometre of each other, with Süleymaniye Camii a little to the west of them. The last group moves north of that quarter for the Galata Kulesi, then west to Kariye Camii, the one stop with no near neighbour on the route.
One stop is placed by the ordering and not by geography. The Masumiyet Müzesi has no coordinates in our inventory, so wherever it appears in the grouping, that position means nothing; treat it as unplaced. No driving or ferry times are given anywhere in this guide, because we do not have them. What each place is, when it was last checked, and which source says so is on its own page.
