The hazel at Karageyikli is recorded by the directorate as an estimated 1,030 years old — a remarkable figure for a hazel, and given as an estimate rather than a measurement. It stands near Karageyikli village in Mihalıççık district of Eskişehir province, and was registered as a natural monument on 23 May 2001 on 0.10 hectares.
The tree is nine metres tall. Its trunk diameter is given as 1.30 metres — the same figure the Eskişehir directorate publishes for every monument tree in the province, junipers and oaks alike, whatever their species, age or height, so it should not be relied on as a measurement of this tree. No girth is given. Its health is recorded as sound and its general appearance as well-formed, on upper-slope ground under the inner Anatolian climate. The inventory names it a Turkish hazel, Corylus colurna, while the descriptive text says only hazel and gives no scientific name.
Capacity is 10 visitors and one vehicle, with hours of 08:00 to 18:00 — the single vehicle place says as much about the road as about the site.
Minibuses run from Eskişehir through Mihalıççık to Karageyikli village, a distance of 107 kilometres.
