Most of these aqueducts have fallen; some stretches are still standing, and the line they run along can be followed for about two and a half kilometres. They belong to the early Byzantine period and were built to bring water to the city from springs in the high mountains to the east.
They cross the plain east of Milas, single-storeyed where the ground allows and two-storeyed out on the plain, with reused stone in the walling. The arches continue into the town, probably running so as to take in the building known as the Baltali Kapı. They are on Baltali Kapı Caddesi in the Ahmet Çavus Hayitli quarter.
