Sevimli Kalesi stands on a steep, peninsula-shaped hill in the valley of the Kura river, about 500 metres south of Sevimli village — also given as Vel — some 18 to 20 kilometres southeast of Hanak in Ardahan.
That is the whole of what the provincial directorate records. It gives no date, no period, no builder and no account of what survives on the hill.
