Kırnav Kale stands beside the Hanak stream on the Ardahan-Hanak road, about 400 metres west of Çayağzı village and five kilometres south of Hanak.
When it was built is not known. The provincial directorate notes one thing it finds striking without drawing a conclusion from it: the remains here use the same walling technique as the remains of Ardahan castle.
