The clock tower in the centre of Sungurlu was built in 1891 by the district governor Edip Bey. It has a square prismatic body of cut stone, with small round-arched windows on every floor except the second.
On the topmost floor is a wooden pavilion with wavy eaves; below it a round clock face on each of the four sides, and below that a balcony with iron railings.

- Across Çorum as a whole, monthly mean temperatures run from -0.2 °C in January to 21.4 °C in August; the mean stays between 15 and 25 °C in May, June, July, August and September; rainfall is heaviest in May (62 mm) and lightest in August (15 mm). Long-term means for 1929-2025 from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM).
